What affects the cost

Every job is different, so we quote each one rather than publish fixed prices. These are the things we look at:

• How many rooms, and the size of the property
• The amount of preparation the surfaces need
• Whether it's painting only or includes papering, woodwork and feature work
• Colour changes that need extra coats
• Whether the house is occupied or empty, empty is often quicker

How the job runs

Every job follows the same four stages, consultation, preparation, the work itself, then a proper clean-up. For residential / domestic decorating, that looks like this:

   Visit and quote

   We come and look at the house, talk through what you want doing — and honestly, what's worth doing — and give you a written, no-obligation quote for the whole job or room by room.

2. 2

   Protect the house

   Floors, furniture and fittings sheeted and covered, and a room order agreed with you so you always know where we'll be and when.

3. 3

   Work through the rooms

   Preparation first in every room, then the painting, papering and woodwork — room by room, so the house stays liveable from the first day to the last.

4. 4

   Walk through together

   A tidy-up at the end of every day, and a final walkthrough of the whole job with you before we call it finished.

Common questions

Do you do one room or whole houses?

Both. Plenty of jobs start as one room and grow once you see the finish. We're happy to work through a house room by room at a pace that suits you, or take on the whole thing in one go.

We're getting the house ready to sell, can you help quickly?

Yes, a fresh, neutral decoration is one of the best-value things you can do before selling or letting. Tell us your timescale and we'll give you a realistic plan to hit it.

Will you tidy up?

Always. Sites are sheeted and protected, we tidy at the end of each day, and we finish with a walkthrough so you're happy before we leave. You shouldn't be able to tell we were there apart from the decorating.

Can you help us choose colours and finishes?

Yes, and it's part of the job rather than an extra. We'll talk through how each room is used and the light it gets, then suggest colours and finishes to suit — tougher wipeable paint for hallways and kitchens, softer matt for bedrooms and living rooms.
